"Put On A Happy Face"

Myrtle Jean Sharp wishing everyone a Happy New Year. 1-1-2018 Perryton, TX
Happy New to all my family and friends. I just got home from a two day vacation that left me celebrating with only friends at the Lucky Star Casino. A friend who was suppose to meet me there came down with the flue, and so did my sister’s daughter who was suppose to relieve her from work. It was terribly cold, and many people were sick. I went on as planned and had a wonderful time with friends at Clinton Oklahoma. When I left Clinton this morning the temperature was 4 degrees. Thankfully the roads were clear, and the trip home was nice. I am now ready to blast off to a New Year of fun and excitement. I made a new friend at Clinton and we became close acquaintances. I hope to do more of this kind of friendship searching in the new Year. Life is too short to live like a hermit, and be bored from lack of friendship. I plan to go more, and do more interesting things in the new year. In was nice to get home to a warn, cozy place of abode. I am so thankful for this place of fortitude in a time of a deeply troubling world. I just want to be able to get out more and contribute anything I can to help people become more “Christ friendly.” He is the answer to all of our problems.

I never watched the news while I was gone, but upon returning home I see where the United States is at odds with Iran over the way the two countries govern. Thousands of Iranian protesters are risking their lives to bring about change to their government. They have been mistreated for many years, and our President Trump is encouraging them to protest. I will not rebuke our President for using his wisdom to help other countries whose people have been robbed of their human rights by evil dictators. In the end good will always triumph over evil. I am always thinking of this famous quote by Edmund Burke. “All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing,” Nothing could be more true. We all must do something, even though we think it’s not much. We need a shield, and we need a sword. We all need to be warriors for God. God is good. God is great, and God will triumph. I try in different ways to help our President, but probably the best way I can help him is kneeling in prayer every night asking God to protect, and give wisdom to him. I also include our Vice President as he is definitely a man of God. “The Lord is my Sheppard I shall not want.” Donald Trump is my President, I shall always trust. I believe it’s now time to put on our shields and go to battle for our Lord. A little criticism won’t hurt anyone who has their faith anchored in the Lord.

God Bless
Myrtle Jean Sharp
