"More Of Yesterday"

Use less the flowers that you give after the soul is gone. 10-8-2019 Perryton, TX

Another view of the lovely yellow flowers that captured my eyes yesterday. How outstanding they appeared in a not so pretty yard. A yard where you would least expect pretty flowers. Somehow these pretty flowers gave me a different feeling about the people living in the older, smaller, almost yard-less house. Evidently the occupants of this property are some of those who say, “give me the flowers while I live, trying to cheer me on. Useless the the flowers that you give after the soul is gone.” How true this verse is. Flowers are a symbol of love, and they mean a lot to people who are struggling with life. but they mean nothing to the flesh after it has ceased to live. Some people find it soothing to take pretty flowers to the graves of their loved ones often. I cannot get any comfort for doing that. I would rather shed tears when I visit the graves. It seems to make me believe that my loved ones somehow know that I wish I had given them more flowers while they lived. Not only the red, yellow, pink, or white pedals, but the hugs, and kisses that I failed to give enough of. The words of love that somehow never got spoken. The appreciation I failed to show for all the love my loved ones showed me. So now when I see beautiful flowers, I am always reminded of my failures to my precious deceased ones. The flowers help to cheer me on even if they are living in someone's yard. Their beauty is there for a reason, and they do not have to be presented to anyone. “Thank you Lord for new strength every day to carry on with this burdensome life.”

At the end of my work day I am feeling eager to take in the luncheon at the Center tomorrow. I can't wait to smile, and even laugh, with sweet friends whom I haven't seen in a few days. I know they have lots of interesting things to share. They are the flowers without pedals that cheer me on. I trust I can be a pedal-less flower to them. I will have to visit my home beauty shop for some needed fixing up, but to tell the truth I'm looking forward to that. I must add a special touch of sweet fragrance so I can smell like a real flower. So far age, or ego hasn't wilted me much. I am one of the many in our group who will not allow that to happen. We all know how blessed we are. Not that we never have any trials to go through, but to know we always have a fair judge who is the fairest of them all. If we are naughty we are punished for it, but never to the extent of losing our faith. The punishment is lighter than we deserve sometimes, but This Judge knows our hearts. We invite you to join our flower garden.

God Bless
