"Old But In Good Shape"

This old jeep looks like one my husband used to have. It sits across the alley from my son's back yard. 7-2-2019 Perryton, TX
This old jeep brought back some fond old memories for me today/ My husband used to have one that looked almost like it. We would take it to the lake where there are lots of small mountains and hills. We had to hang onto each other to keep from falling out. It could climb almost straight up, and go across deep ditches. That was exciting then, but I would not enjoy those thrills today. We still had teenagers at home, and they remember that old jeep also. I don't know the model of this jeep, but I am guessing it is in the forties. I took this picture of it while setting on my son's back porch. There is no fence between the back yard and the lot the jeep sits on. It's amazing at how many memories come to me these days. We were a close family of fun, and adventurous seekers. That love hasn't left me, it's just that I am too old to take the body stress. Life has been good for me and my family, and I will forever be grateful to God. I can't imagine trading the Rockies for a place where the streets are paved with gold. However. I know I will fit in. My husband is there waiting for me, and I believe I will be joining him soon. I have many loved ones already there, so I know I won't be longing for this old earth. With every passing loved one or friends, I feel less at home here on earth.

I try to pass the time away by being as active as possible. It just doesn't satisfy like it used to. Like the old jeep, I have seen better days. But also like the old jeep my body don't show any signs of dents or faded paint. It is just what it has always been, a fun roll, and tumble machine with open space to be seen. That's me. I'm rolling on, and sometimes I take a few tumbles. So far I have not received any broken parts, or lost all of my lights. Jeeps were made to be tough, and I have to say I fit that description also. Newer models of the jeep family have been produced, just like newer models of the human family, but to say the older models have been taken off the market is a falsehood. The old jeep I have posted is for sale. I'm not for sale, but I still work. My battery has to be recharged occasionally, but it holds a charge for quite awhile. As far fuel I never need to change. I have been using the same energy makers forever. Bacon, eggs, toast, and orange juice. Beans, fried potatoes, and cornbread. T-bone, baked potatoes, salad, and apple pie. These are a few of what makes me keep moving on. I only like politics because I am a fighter for my God, and country. I expect to die on the battlefield for my Lord.

God Bless
Myrtle Jean Sharp
