This is not the picture I wanted to post, but the other one is on my I phone and I don't know how to transfer it to my regular pictures. It is a pic of the police officer, and me. 9-19-2019 Perryton. TX
My day started off good
this morning, but before noon I had been scammed, and didn't realize
it until after I had given my social security number. I wasn't asked
for it, but supposedly a good friend texted me and said she had
received her grant money form the FTC, Federal Trade Commission. She
said it was something about Social Security beneficiaries, and a lot
of people were eligible for it. She had applied, and got her grant
for a business or anything she wanted to do with the money. She said
it was a grant and didn't have to be paid back. Well I was a bit
skeptical about that, but a member of my family had told me her
mother had been contacted about saving her some money on her
insurance, and other things. At first she was skeptical, but little
by little she followed instructions, and she did get her insurance
lowered, and was being saved several hundred dollars a month. I had
been reading on face book where many seniors were eligible for extra
benefits, but didn't know it. This friend who texted me said she had
been blessed, and suggested I contact the number to see if I
qualified. Not thinking too much of it I did text the number. I gave
them my name and social security number to see if I qualified.
Supposedly they had a list of all who qualified if they had enough
information to check for sure. A lawyer called me back claiming to be
my agent, and said he would check further. By this time I was getting
very skeptical and called this friend. She told me she had not texted
me, nor did she get any grant money. I headed for the Police Station.
The officer took my I phone, and read all the bull and blocked a few
numbers, then told me that my friend had been hacked, and I had been
scammed. He told me to tell her to change her pass word, and if I had
any more trouble to come back. He did take his picture in his uniform
beside me and sent the message to the hacker saying maybe we should
meet. But before the officer did that the evil creature kept trying
to get more information from me. The officer gave me a number to call
the social security office and tell them I had been a victim of a
scam, and have them to watch my SS number. I am learning more every
day just how wicked this old world is getting to be. I have been
attempted to be scammed several times before, but only once, the
first time it happened, did I get fooled. Never, never get too
confident in your friends when they sound a little bit too excited on
the text msg.
God bless
