"Saturday Celebration From Home"

Just finished watering my flowers.7-8-2017 Perryton, TX

The temperature was rising fast. I rushed out to water the flowers and pull a few blades of grass. Another day of wading through all the turmoil that so easily upsets me. I suppose something is needed to make us ever ready to move to another land which we know not of except by faith. With all the wonderful days of sunshine comes the days of troublesome storms. So far no storm has been bad enough to say enough is enough. I might think about it, but just for a moment. God knows that if He wills I would be pleased to live as long as Methuselah. That is not to say my life has been a bed of roses, although I love roses very much. This is the worse year I’ve had for roses in several years. A few came and went about as fast as they came. Last year my entire front yard was covered with beautiful roses that lasted all summer and into the fall. All the other flowers have had a hard time keeping their make-up on also. They look faded most of the time, even when I keep them watered good. So it goes, live is life for everything, and everybody, but we live by the grace of God, and only He will make us beautiful or ugly. I try to help Him, but most of the time I just be me without any make-up.

This evening I will be joining the widowed men and women’s group for a meal at Bryan’s Corner. I always look forward to this as it is a time to share while we eat together. Our joys and concerns are made known, and it is always encouraging. It is also a time to realize that we are not the only one living alone, since all of our mates have passed on. The atmosphere always makes the food taste better. Strangely enough all of our group share the same faith in God. That makes for a more interesting time for sharing our lonely hearts. This meeting is not connected to any church, but seemingly all the members are connected to God. What a blessing to all. This is the third, and sometimes the fourth, time a week I am privileged to be with other people who are enjoying themselves while either dinning or worshiping. I can’t imagine a time when this freedom might be taken from us. Yet we all know that is a fight that we are struggling with daily. Let us be merry as long as we possible can, and take nothing for granted. Never failing to give thanks to our Heavenly Father who gives us His best. So to close this simple little message I want to emphasize that all good times comes with bad times. Our Lord Jesus Christ is proof of that. Just read the New Testament and see all the grief, and suffering, the Son of God went through.

God Bless
Myrtle Jean Sharp
